Many thanks to Cindy and marin for their hospitality last week when we visited the Psycleworkz shop to see the progress of the new nitro Harley project. Martin kindly took us through the design work that he has done so far and pointed out the materials already in place to make the new frame and some of the engine. There is a long way to go with this project but it was very exciting to see the progress that has been made, things are taking shape!!

I have included some pictures, along with a picture of the old Fast Cat as on the same day it was collected by its new owner and taken over to Sweden. A sad day for us but it allows everyone to concentrate on the job in hand.

Shamus has been working on the truck this weekend installing a raised floor at the front end. This will allow all the water tanks, boiler etc to be kept out of the way as well as giving lots of storage underneath the living area.

Bunks

Two things today, firstly the framework for the bunks has gone in the back of the truck and secondly I’m having a go at posting this via the iPhone, not sure if it will work!

Truck Build

As well as documenting the build of the new bike, I thought it may be an idea to blog the ‘kitting out’ of the new truck. It was decided towards the back end of last year that we needed more space, so the old truck has been sold and Shamus bought some new wheels.
Shamus will be doing the majority of the work on the truck, so I will keep pestering him for pictures etc as work comes along. In the mean time I have attached a couple of pics of the truck as it stands, hopefully it will look very different soon.

The beginning

So a quick introduction to the team, I am Nick, I do various bits and pieces including creating and managing the website www.afbdragracing.co.uk a bit of admin work for the team and various duties at the track. Shamus is our team owner and rider of the bike, as well as being responsible for converting our new race truck (pics and updates to follow). Shiner is our crew chief, looking after all mechanical aspects of runing the bike and he is ably assisted by Ashley who looks after all things electrical.

The aim of this blog is to give a bit of an insight into the running of the team over the course of the year, from the relatively quiet winter months to the busy days leading up to an event. 2012 is set to be a very exciting year fo us as we await completion of a brand new Nitro Harly built by Psycleworkz. The new bike has come about through the generocity and inginutiy of Martin and Cindy over at Psycleworkz, as without them, the project would not be where it is today.

I hope anyone that reads this will enjoy our trials and tribulations over the next year, thanks for reading.
